Case Studies

UK Power Networks

Taylor Technology Systems were responsible for the installation of security systems across the UK Power Network operational estate covering all three DNO’s EPN, SPN and LPN. This entailed the design, supply and installation of requisite infrastructure throughout the sites to enable the installation and transmission of data from PIDS, IDS, CCTV AACS, Lighting, Auditable Challenges Systems, together with the overarching systems integration.

In addition, we were responsible for the Critical National Infrastructure sites of UKPN including their High-Speed 1 Sub Station installations. These sites have Gallagher’s fully monitored attack detection pulse fence systems, designed to offer effective deterrent in the safest way, to which we are a Certified Channel Partner for the south east of England.

Taylor Technology Systems has extensive experience in working on Intruder Detection Systems, working as Principal Contractor on large-scale projects and bespoke installations in hazardous environments such as Utilities and Rail.

We have many partnerships to support our IDS operation such as Synectic’s, Gallagher’s, Optex, Bosch and Samsung. We possess the full range of capabilities to deliver large and complex design, installation and maintenance of security systems. We carry out planned preventative maintenance for the security systems including Intruder, Access and Closed Circuit television (CCTV) systems deployed on UK Power Networks Operational Estate being primarily Substations, Tunnels and Tunnel access.  This includes the provision of an emergency call out (reactive maintenance) service available 24-hours a day, 365-days a year.

The planned preventative maintenance visits require us to maintain asset registers for sites scheduled for the planned maintenance visits, recording the type and condition of the equipment, plant and materials.
