Case Studies

ITW Envopak, Sidcup

Following a fire risk assessment at ITW Envopak, Taylor Technology Systems designed, installed and maintain a fire alarm system and emergency lighting scheme for ITW Envopak in Sidcup. This involved a complete strip out of the existing system and the installation of a fully addressable fire alarm system in according with building standards and BAFE codes of practice.

Taylor Technology Systems were commissioned to carry out an initial system asset condition survey and on-going maintenance of the fire safety systems at the ITW Envopak site in Sidcup. ITW Envopak manufacture and supply security seals and re-usable security sealing solutions.

Our nominated fire design technician consulted with the client to advise on their responsibility to ensure compliance with the regulatory reform (fire safety) order (FSO) 2005. This resulted in a complete strip out of the existing conventional fire alarm systems due to various faults and changes in the building’s use and layout. A fully addressable fire detection and alarm system was designed and installed for each building to classification L2, in accordance with the Risk assessments, BS5839 part 1 2013 and the BAFE SP203 part 1 codes of practice.

Taylor Technology Systems are currently maintaining these fire detection systems, to ensure that the client’s weekly tests are logged, false alarm activations are reported, and corrective action is taken to ensure a fault-free system for the client.

In addition to being NSI NACOSS Fire Gold accredited, we are also NICEIC accredited and, as such, we installed a new Emergency lighting scheme for the client’s main shop floor and warehouse.
